The Grainger Foundation has donated $10,000 to Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley in support of the 4th annual McDonald Lions Club 5K Feed the Need Run and Fun Walk on Saturday, November 24, 2012.

“This grant will be used to distribute food to more than 150 hunger-relief organizations in Columbiana, Mahoning, and Trumbull counties,” said Michael Iberis, Executive Director, Second Harvest Food Bank.  We are grateful to The Grainger Foundation for its continued generosity.

This donation was recommended by Jeff Hughes, Branch Manager of W.W. Grainger, Inc.’s, Youngstown location. Grainger has been a part of the Youngstown business community for more than 56 years as the leading broad line supplier of maintenance, repair, and operating products. “We are proud to recommend Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley for this donation,” said Hughes. “We know the number of hungry people in the Mahoning Valley is increasing each year, and as a company within the community, we wanted to do our part to help meet this ever-increasing need.”

The Grainger Foundation, an independent, private foundation based in Lake Forest, Illinois, was established in 1949 by William W. Grainger, founder of W.W. Grainger, Inc.
